Distribution Coordinator

Louisville, KY

Distribution Coordinator is responsible for the planning, scheduling and route workflow into and through Distribution B2C and B2B lines, ensuring continuous processing of shipment orders, Establishing priorities where required for timely processing of outbound shipments of freight using knowledge of carrier regulations and requirements to ensure the efficient movement of goods and materials for both domestic and international shipments

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Serve as primary interface with the Distribution Supervisor on distribution matters.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by efficient handling of customer orders, delivery, reconciliation and complaints.
  • Ensure correct staff workload planning.
  • Responsible for supervision, training and development of staff.
  • Determine shipping priorities and methods to best meet respective shipping schedules.
  • Work with Warehouse Pickers and Line Leads to ensure continuous workflow and proper batch handling.
  • Continuous reviewing of order status to ensure priorities and on time shipments are met for each and every customer.
  • Work with Temp Agency to schedule temporary manpower based on capacity requirements.
  • Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity relative to product, process and quality system.
  • Respond to processing and quality issue that cannot be handled by the Line Leads or QC.
  • Promptly address safety issues and ensure all processes/procedures are in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Assure compliance to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards as relates to management of fulfillment processing, audit processed and procedure for compliance and quality.
  • Proactively review processes, identify potential problems and provide recommendations to improve and maintain integrity of DCL processes.
  • Adhere to the DCL Code of Conduct.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform other job responsibilities, as necessary and/or assigned.
PHYSICAL/OTHER REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
  • Ability to move 40+ pounds.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment where temperature is affected by weather conditions.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5 + years of Distribution B2C and B2B experience or equivalent combination of education and experience with three years in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Experience with JD Edwards/ One World a plus.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
