2019 Looking Forward

Category:News

The DCL Logistics team and I hope the holiday season was good to you and your business.

As we enter a new year, I’d like to share a few highlights from our growth in 2018 and give you a preview of what we’re looking forward to in 2019.

  • CES 2019  – Every year DCL attends CES, the largest consumer tech expo in the US. If you plan to attend, we hope you’ll join us on Wednesday, January 9th––we’re hosting a party with our good friends at Flexport. It will be a great chance to connect over drinks and food, and mingle with other industry folks. If you can’t make the party but would like to meet up at CES please reach out to us to schedule some time.
  • Growth in Louisville – Our Louisville customer base continued to grow rapidly this past year; with this additional shipping location many of DCL’s customers benefited from the decreased customer delivery times. We are in the process of building a new Louisville facility, which will be the largest and most automated fulfillment center in our network. It’s scheduled to open on April 1st. I’m sure you’ve read news about robotics automation in logistics and we are experimenting with individual picking robots for B2C at this new warehouse. Can you imagine picking robots working 24/7 without any breaks?
  • Continued Investment in eFactory – We launched eFactory 11 in 2018, which integrated our EDI software and allows you to use the platform for EDI documents even if shipments are not originating from a DCL warehouse. In addition, we released a new analytics module for customers to collect more robust data points to help grow their business––look for more features in this module in 2019. Data is king! The DCL eFactory app is also available as a mobile app; download it from the Apple Store or Google Play.
  • Expanded Amazon Services – With everyone working with Amazon these days, we know it’s important to be enabled to ship as a 3PL for Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP). This is an alternative to FBA for those who want inventory flexibility. Now we can ship directly to your Amazon customers and bypass going through Amazon warehouses. We can now ship for all Amazon models including EDI, MFN, FBA, and SFP.

As we grow, we still believe that quality standards and customer satisfaction are our highest priorities. We expanded our team in 2018, especially in Account Management, to provide even better support to our expanding and global customer base. I want to continue to ensure that our team members act as customer advocates in our facilities to provide the best logistics support possible.

And since we are talking about customer satisfaction, I’m pleased to announce that Brian Tu will be joining the team as our Chief Revenue Officer. Brian brings 20 years of Sales, Sales Strategy and Client Service experience to DCL. His focus on keeping client satisfaction high us aligned with mine. I’m excited to have him join the company and look forward to 2019 and beyond.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, suggestions, or to set up time to discuss how DCL Logistics can help your company grow.

Wishing you a great start to the new year, we look forward to connecting with you soon!

All the best,

Dave Tu

DCL Logistics, President
