DCL Logistics is a 3PL that offers state of the art ecommerce and retail fulfillment services in the United States with facilities in California and Kentucky.

Our growing third party logistics company (3PL) seeks an Accountant, who will be part of our Accounting team whose mission is to build scalable and reliable accounting processes and valuable financial reporting for operational, analytics and planning purposes

The Accountant position supports several important monthly processes within DCL Accounting: (i) assist in monthly invoicing of customers, if applicable, including developing an understanding of DCL’s automation initiative; (ii) ongoing tabulation of Accounts Payable, ageing analysis and payments; (iii) keeping of fixed asset lists and controls, and ongoing calculation of depreciation schedules; (iv) ongoing monitoring of inventory controls and accounting; (v) assist with month-end close and consolidation of financials according to U.S. GAAP; and, (vi) support efforts to improve the Financial Planning & Analysis function.

This position is a full time role, reports to the Accounting Manager and requires reporting to our Southern California facility (Ontario) daily.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate issuance of billing invoices to customers
  • Assist in coordinating ongoing accounts payable status, ensuring that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner, taking into account payment terms to maximize cash flow to DCL, ensuring that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
  • Assist in preparing monthly bank-to-books cash reconciliation for review
  • Maintenance of fixed asset lists, and related depreciation schedules
  • Develop an understanding of the Chart of Accounts, the E1 accounting system, and monthly financial reporting implications
  • 6. Assist in developing & maintaining a system of internal controls over accounting transactions, including maintenance of a monthly closing checklist and Accounting Policies governing how transactions are recognized
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements according to U.S. GAAP
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics, as required by management
  • Assist with production of the annual budget/forecasts and related analysis, with ongoing analysis of monthly operating results against budget (variance, with root causes)
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, contract negotiations and cost controls
  • Coordinate the provision of information to senior management and external CPAs for regular review.
Desired Qualifications

The ideal Accountant candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or Finance and 4-6 years of progressively responsible experience in U.S. GAAP. Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant designation, and/or audit experience in a public accounting firm.
