Of all the warehouses that we vetted, DCL is the only one who really takes stuff very seriously—they have a quality assurance checklist that gets marked off in the warehouse. That’s the stuff that sets them apart.
What we are having DCL do, the pack-out and kitting, is unique. As we iterate our design, what we want to ship to customers has evolved and changed, DCL has been flexible with that. Their flexibility is rare, absolutely rare.
We just weren’t very well set up to handle putting a nice shrink wrap on our returned/refurbished products, but it was a resource that we really needed. We looked into doing it with a third-party, but it would have been much more complicated logistically. DCL came up with a really nice solution.
We had to climb so many learning curves as a startup: fundraising, branding, getting through the FDA, building a product, and logistics and warehousing was not an area where we wanted to climb the steep learning curve and make mistakes. We always wanted to partner with experts.
